An exiting opportunity to be part of the founding senior management team of what will soon be the primary training provider for long-term care workers in Washington – training more than 30,000 workers every year.
Job Description: We are looking for an inventive, talented, and committed individual who is interested in applying superlative educational R&D expertise to develop 21st century instructional products for long-term care workers. This currently includes basic training, advance training, continuing education, and peer mentoring training products. The Director of Research and Development reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities: Direct research and development for all instructional products; conduct survey research; conduct focus groups and structured interviews; administer curriculum development through an online collaborative curriculum development platform (e.g. wiki); conduct literature reviews to identify best practices; directly develop curriculum; contract and manage content expert development work; contract and manage curriculum translation, layout, and graphic design; in coordination with the Operations Department – develop and administer CQI system; research and develop instructional models (e.g. instructor qualifications, ratios, etc.); research and design instructor led lab space; contract and manage development of online training products; develop and administer train-the-trainer program; facilitate collaboration among home care aides, home care aide employers, the College Consortium (consortium of college representatives), the Community Network (community organization!
s), and federal/state/local government agencies; supervise R&D Department staff, facilitate alignments with affiliated hospital worker training programs; and develop and manage R&D department workflows.
Experience: Related experience and Masters degree preferred (Education, Healthcare, or related field).
Other: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, willingness to work long and irregular hours, interest in long-term care, collaborative, creative, tech savvy, well honed facilitation skills, ability to work well under deadline, detail oriented. Hands-on experience in long-term care and/or healthcare preferred.
