Approximate work schedule: 40hours/week, generally 9¬5 Monday¬ Friday. Schedule to be determined upon hiring. Candidate must drive between PV office and a number of school sites on a daily basis and be able to adjust schedule occasionally for evening meetings with youth and their families.

Employment salary and benefits: $32,000¬$35,000 DOE. Medical/dental benefits provided, four weeks paid time off.

Job Summary/Purpose: Powerful Voices is hiring a Youth Advocate/Case Manager to work closely with the Program Director and the program team to provide case management services to Seattle¬ area girls involved or at¬risk of being involved with the juvenile justice system. The position is responsible for ensuring case management and advocacy is available and delivered to girls referred to us through our partnership with City of Seattle’s Youth Violence Prevention Initiative. Responsibilities include partnership cultivation, program delivery, evaluation and reporting, service coordination & facilitation, budget monitoring, curriculum development and maintenance, and co¬ facilitator support.

Position Requirements
The following are the major responsibilities for which this position is accountable:
¬Conduct outreach and recruitment for case management/advocacy services
¬Contact girls who are referred to the program within 48 hours ¬Conduct one¬to¬one interviews arrange immediate service follow¬up ¬Facilitate weekly goal¬setting meetings with enrolled girls and conduct home visits
¬Provide services referral and ensure girls receive needed services ¬Attend meetings and trainings with community partners, including monthly SYVPI meetings
¬Maintain comprehensive case files and collect, update and input into database
¬Submit monthly data to Program Director for grant and board reporting
¬Participate in twice¬monthly supervisory meetings, weekly team meetings, monthly all¬staff meetings, trainings/staff development and all staff/board retreats, etc.
¬Assist in training and mentoring co¬facilitators (JustServe AmeriCorps Member, UW MSW and other community partners) ¬Support admin staff in external communication/PR including, but not limited to, mailings to youth/guardian participants, agency newsletters, luncheon program coordination, site visit coordination, and other community outreach events
¬Track and monitor program expenses, manage all program materials off¬site and at Powerful Voices
¬Other tasks and responsibilities requested by the Program Director

Preferred Qualifications
For successful completion of position requirements outlined above, the candidate witll have the following:
•Experience in youth advocacy/case management and motivational interviewing
• Experience with violence prevention, intervention, and conflict resolution
• Strong time¬management, organization skills and good follow¬through
• Experience in program coordination and supervision
• Tenacity to collaborative with Seattle Public Schools and the Juvenile Justice systems
• Ability to work well independently and on a team
• Ability to build relationships across a broad spectrum of adolescent girls, staff members, and community partners
• Professional self¬awareness and openness to learning and professional development
• Ease and comfort with learning new curriculum approaches
• WA State driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred
• Real understanding of issues affecting youth involved in violence
• Dedication to anti¬racism and anti¬oppression work
• Strong understanding of the values behind all¬girl education and strengths¬based programming
