Project Description:
The project involves implementing a social marketing plan to increase timely immunization among hesitant parents of children birth to 24 months. The plan was developed in response to concerns related to immunization rates in Washington State. Phase one is working with healthcare providers and physicians to adopt new tools and strategies for reaching parents. Phase two will focus on engaging the parent community.

The Immunization Action Coalition of Washington (IACW) is a statewide coalition focused on advancing its mission of timely and effective immunization for all residents of Washington. The mission of the IACW is achieved through public awareness campaigns, provider education, advocacy that supports access and delivery of vaccines, and increased collaboration between members, partners, and providers.

General Job Description:
The Immunization Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for the organization, planning and general administration of a new statewide immunization social marketing campaign. This is a multi-year grant funded project. The projected start date is July 2009. The Project Coordinator will work closely with partnering organizations, community leaders, physicians, funders, and WithinReach staff, to implement the Immunization Campaign. Additional responsibilities are related to on-going IACW activities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Project Related:
• Support implementation of a statewide immunization social marketing campaign including, but not limited to:
o Formation of a statewide Alliance to support the immunization campaign
o Creation of a healthcare provider/physician Toolkit
o Pre-testing of materials with providers and parents
o Establishment of pilot sites at large healthcare clinics and within the community as defined by the plan
o Training of providers/physicians related to the use of the Toolkit
o Coordination of data collection and analysis of findings
• Report project activity and progress regularly to the IACW Program Manager, Campaign Oversight Committee, IACW members, and partnering agencies.
• Coordinate and implement evaluation methods and tools for Campaign activities.

IACW Related:
• Develop and revise immunization-related communication and education materials.
• Maintain and update the IACW website.
• Participate in all IACW meetings; write and distribute meeting minutes.
• Provide logistical coordination for Quarterly meetings.
• Maintain and update the electronic membership list.

Other Duties:
• Represent the Immunization Campaign and/or the IACW at various local and state meetings.
• Assist in the writing and development of supporting materials for grant applications and progress reports.
• Assist the Program Manager in tracking budget expenses. May assist with budget analysis.

Qualifications:
• 2-4 years experience in program planning/management required.
• Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in community organizing and/or social marketing in the public health field.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; strong oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, utilize effective time management skills, and exercise sound administrative judgment.
• Self-starter and an independent learner.
• Proficiency in MS Office required.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week). This position requires access to a car and a valid driver’s license and may require day/overnight travel.

Salary & Benefits: Salary $42,000-$47,000 DOE. Benefits include paid medical, vision, dental and retirement plan.
