The International Examiner newspaper is proud to announce the recipients of its
19th annual Community Voice Awards (CVAs)!
The International Examiner recognizes outstanding API individuals and organizations in the Pacific Northwest through the Community Voice Awards. Every year, community members select nominees who have distinguished themselves by actively working towards the betterment of the community, making significant contributions to uplifting and raising awareness of local Asian Americans.
This year’s awardees are recognized because of their history for making a difference in our community—the API Community Leadership Foundation (ACLF), Cassie Chinn, and Vu Le, this year’s recipient of the Tatsuo Nakata Leadership Award, named in honor of young community activist, Tatsuo Nakata, to honor young Asian Pacific Islanders who have shown outstanding leadership.
Our 2010 awardees:
• Honored Organization: The API Community Leadership Foundation (ACLF)
• The Tatsuo Nakata Youth Award: Vu Le, Executive Director for the Vietnamese Friendship Association (VFA)
• The Arts: Cassie Chinn, Deputy Executive Director for the Wing Luke Asian Museum
• Lifetime Achievement Award: TBA
Congratulations to the recipients! We hope to celebrate your contributions and the missions in which you strive for and accomplish! The International Examiner 19th annual Community Voice Awards will be held during APA Heritage Month, next May 2010 at the New Hong Kong restaurant. A set date will be announced later this year.
