Welcome ACLF Board Member, Ann Kim Novkowski, CLP ’07!

Ann Kim Novakowski received her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology before deciding to leave filial dreams of medical school behind and transition to a local nonprofit.  It was there that she found her life’s purpose as an advocate for human rights.  Since, she has advocated on behalf of survivors of sexual assault, trafficked persons, asylees, refugees, immigrants and at-risk and gang-involved youth.

She traversed the country in search of community and finally settled in the Seattle area after receiving her Master’s in Public Health from Yale University in 2002.  Her identity as a biracial woman and second-third generation immigrant is what drives her to engage in community work for social justice and social change.

She currently works on issues of global health at The Max Foundation (TMF) and serves on the workgroup of the Seattle Chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF).  Ann loves wine paired with good food and good friends, dabbles with words, and fancies herself an undiscovered and untapped genius with acrylics.
